Comfort and ventilation, how can we live better in our homes?

Many times, when we seek to enhance our home comfort, we think about improving our furniture or having more modern appliances. However, few changes affect our comfort at home or in the office as much as improving the air quality we breathe indoors. Good ventilation can make us feel more comfortable, improve our health, and also help us concentrate better and prevent stress. Additionally, air conditioning will also be much more efficient and not necessarily costly.
Typically, when winter arrives or extreme heat hits during the worst summer months, we start seeing ads for air conditioning and heating systems. However, improving comfort at home does not solely depend on the traditional air conditioning systems we all know.
Traditional air conditioning simply blows cold air in the case of air conditioning or heats the air in a room when we talk about heating. This has several aspects that do not help home comfort:
- Air is not renewed with traditional air conditioning systems. This generates stale air in the places we inhabit, which can negatively affect our health.
- Heating systems warm up the rooms, but without air circulation, heat stays mainly in the upper areas of the rooms. People feel their heads hot and feet cold, resulting in a loss of comfort. The sensation should be the other way around.
- In the case of using air conditioning, it can reach a situation where, without using it, it becomes too hot; while using it can make the room too cold. Air conditioning units do not send air at a specific temperature, but rather expel air at a very cold temperature and stop doing so when they detect that the room is sufficiently cooled in the thermostat area.
- Air conditioning does not combat dust, humidity, or many other conflicts at home. Moreover, it can allow bacteria to settle indoors since there is no cycle for renewing the breathed air.
On the other hand, mechanical ventilation not only improves the climatic conditions of the home but also makes our houses healthier places. Moreover, they are energy-efficient systems, so we can enjoy much lower supply costs while contributing to environmental improvement.
How to improve our comfort with mechanical ventilation

Mechanical ventilation systems, especially dual-flow systems, are capable of improving temperatures in our homes without increasing the electricity bill. However, that is not the only advancement that enables better comfort at home.
First of all, there is a renewal of air that brings numerous benefits:
- We prevent stale air from accumulating in our rooms, thus mitigating the chances of contracting diseases or worsening the quality of what enters our lungs.
- We combat humidity, which is a problem for our buildings but especially for our bodies.
- We no longer suffer from fogged windows. We also prevent dust from settling on our furniture.
- With mechanical ventilation systems, we no longer have to worry about mosquitoes or other insects.
- The air that enters the house in a dual-flow mechanical ventilation system is always filtered. That is why it is free from pollution and always of the highest quality.
- We concentrate better and sleep more soundly thanks to the use of mechanical ventilation.
Being automatic systems, we can forget about everything. Also about the cold and heat. The bypass system in dual-flow equipment enables the air entering a room in summer to be cooled and in winter to be heated.
What do we achieve with this? A thermal comfort that offers us the best sensations of comfort in winter and summer. We will only need to resort to air conditioning systems in exceptional cases of extreme cold or excessive heat. And all this with minimal consumption, similar in many cases to that of a light bulb and without the excessive costs of air conditioning or heating.
