We have become the first manufacturer in Europe to obtain an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its innovative product range Evo 1 and 2, Eco Auto / Hygro / Hygro +, as well as for its thermoplastic ducts and accessories. This achievement reflects Siber's commitment to sustainability and innovation, setting a new standard in the industry.
What is a product environmental declaration and how is it related to life cycle analysis?
Life cycle analysis is a tool that allows evaluating the environmental impacts of a product at all stages of its life.
And a PED is a document verified by a third party that provides environmental information of a product based on the life cycle analysis and following specific standards.
How do we foresee the future of the construction sector from the environmental perspective and what role does a PED play?
Currently, sustainability is on the rise but I believe there is still a long way to go. With the PEDs of our VMC DF EVO 1 and 2 heat recovery units and our network of thermoplastic ducts and accessories, we have become the first European company to have environmental product declarations of a complete ventilation system.
What added value does a PED provide?
Currently, a PED (Product Environmental Declaration) is a document that adds value to certifications that are growing exponentially such as Breeam, Leed or Verde among others. It is also an important document within the Level’s regulatory framework.
What role does the circular economy play and why should we apply this change of mindset?
If we want to get out of this state of climate emergency, the circular economy plays a key role, as it allows the elimination of waste, conservation of natural resources as we would not be extracting raw materials directly from the earth and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Thanks to the PEDs, we can quantify our environmental impact and reduce it in the most efficient way.
