How to Obtain the Energy Efficiency Certificate with Mechanical Ventilation Complying with the Regulations?
To know which regulations should apply to the property, one must consider whether it is a home or a commercial premises, as they differ.
When it comes to a home, the document that regulates ventilation is the Basic Document HS3, Basic Health Requirements, from the Technical Building Code (CTE).
For commercial premises or uses other than residential, the regulation to consider for ventilation is RITE, the Regulation of Thermal Installations in Buildings. It appears in the section dedicated to indoor quality, where the minimum provisions you will have to include are set out to ensure thermal comfort and hygiene through heating, air conditioning, and hot water installations. The objective is to use energy rationally.
Depending on the state of the premises, it will be necessary to choose one ventilation system or another, but it must always be guaranteed that the air quality is adequate and that the air circulates efficiently inside the premises. The mechanical ventilation is the best option, but there may also be other alternatives such as hybrid or natural systems. When it works correctly, it ensures that the premises are free from smoke, chemical contaminants, or any other substances that could harm the health of workers.
Additionally, it must be ensured that the quality of the incoming air from outside is adequate, and for this, it will be necessary to have filters or similar elements to make the incoming air as pure as possible.
To obtain the Energy Efficiency Certificate with mechanical ventilation, it must be verified that the installations are correct and function properly.
